Founded in 1981, TransAfrica D.C. Chapter provides local support to the
lobbying and educational efforts of the national organization - TransAfrica
Forum, the Black American Lobby for Africa and the Caribbean. The Chapter's
principal objectives are to raise the awareness and consciousness of the
Washington area community and increase their involvement in activities of
importance to Africa and the Caribbean. The Chapter actively raises funds

organization.
